3 Tips For The Perfect Girls Trip and Why It’s Important To Go On One

1

As with most people’s 2020 vacation plans, my girls trip to celebrate turning 30, got postponed until 2021. Nevertheless, my friend and I persevered didn’t let the delay dim our spirits, and went on our girls trip early in 2021! I’m writing to tell you that it was quite possibly the most relaxing and most needed trip that I have been on and I want you to experience that too!

Here are 3 tips to have the perfect girls trip:

  1. Length of the trip: It is important to schedule your vacation for the correct amount of time. A long weekend, 3 or 4 days, is the perfect amount of time for a girls trip. It gives you enough time away to relax, but not enough time to start missing your husband and kids too much. We flew out on a Wednesday morning and came back late Saturday night. Not only did we get most of the day on Wednesday that way, but we were able to have almost the whole day on Saturday as well.
  2.  Rental Car: Before this trip, I had always just gone with the cheapest rental car option. On this trip, however, we spent a little bit extra and got a fun car for our trip – a Jeep Wrangler that we could take the roof off of. It MADE the trip. A fun car can set the attitude for your trip and there is really no other option when you are planning the perfect girls trip. So even if you drive a minivan or modest midsize SUV in your regular life, go for a convertible or luxury car for your girls trip…you won’t regret it!Jeep Wrangler rental car.
  3. Activities: The perfect girls trip has a balance of relaxing activities and adventurous ones. For a 3 or 4 day vacation, you should have 1 or 2 adventurous activities and the rest should be things that are relaxing for you. Don’t try to cram too much into your trip, or else you will come home exhausted, needing a vacation from your vacation. On our trip, we slept in, watched sunsets, laid out in the sun, read books, and for our adventurous (well adventurous for us) activity, we went kayaking on the ocean. Kayaking on the ocean

In the grand scheme of all that is going on in the world, it might sound silly that I am saying it is important to go on a girls trip. However, I came back from my trip feeling rested, relaxed, and with renewed vigor to be a better mom and wife. Make taking a girls trip a priority this year for you and your mental health. If flying makes you nervous, then pick a place you can drive to. If money or budgeting is a concern, then use tools to help you find the best deal. Where there is a will, there is a way. Your mental health is important, and going on a girls trip will help greatly. So take these tips, get your friend(s), and hit the road!
