Andee grew up in Northwest Indiana and attended Ball State University. Following graduation, she moved to Indianapolis, where she met her husband, Jim. Andee taught high school English for nearly a decade before she and her husband welcomed their son, Preston, in the spring of 2013. She has a passion for writing, CrossFit, tutoring, laughing, traveling and maintaining genuine friendships.
DeAndrea is Midwest blazed, grazed and raised. She resides in Broad Ripple with her husband, Steve, daughter, Weslie Vivian, and Stephen Eric Beaven III (aka Trey). DeAndrea is a 2000 graduate of Pike High School and 2004 graduate of Indiana State University with a Degree in Communications Studies and Marketing. She works full time at Harrison College as a Senior Enrollment Specialist. In her spare time, along with blogging, DeAndrea volunteers at the Center for Leadership Development mentoring young girls. Her hobbies include, reading, shopping and being a pop culture enthusiast.
Emily is a busy working mom with 2 very active boys (Dylan & Tyler) and a very adventurous husband (Dustin)! She lives in Brownsburg and works in fundraising for a large nonprofit, promoting heart health in our youth (inspired by her oldest son who was born with a heart defect). She is also a Bootcamp instructor at her church and CycleStar at CycleBar-TradersPoint. Emily and her family love to do Spartan Races together and share their passion of creating healthy families through fitness and nutrition. She also loves audio books, yellow Labrador Retreivers, has a love/hate relationship with running and loves chocolate chip cookies.
Lauren is a wife, mother and public relations professional. A born and raised Hoosier, she loves all things Indiana. After spending two years fighting the tourists in Orlando, Florida, Lauren returned home to this great state and now lives in Carmel. A self proclaimed “boy mom”, Lauren loves spending time with her little man Andrew and husband James. She is a sports lover, runner and avid traveler. Lauren considers motherhood her greatest adventure and loves that she gets to share her stories with IMB readers.
Regan is a stay at home mom to little man, Damon. Originally from Columbus, IN she graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design. After meeting husband John in Boston, they moved to Indiana seeking “adventure.” She has worked a majority of her career in higher education, most recently at Butler University. A children’s book illustrator at heart and trade, Regan is enjoying time with her little guy as she begins to rebuild her portfolio. You can find her around the Southside of Indianapolis as she runs after Damon, a very active toddler.
Jan is a SAHM mom of two girls ages 8 and 3. She and her husband of 12 years have also fostered 7 children in the last year. Jan is a Dr. Pepper addicted retired modern dancer. She gave up being a development director 3 years ago to focus on her family. Jan is currently on sabatical from the Junior League of Indianapolis and is working to build a transracial family support group.
Amanda is a solo mama to Mira Joey and founder of The Cocktails & Chemo Foundation, a group focused on caring for caregivers in honor of her late husband, Joe. Amanda is a sushi eater, lip gloss lover, blog writer and podcast host.
Andrea is a wife, mother and works full-time as a media buyer for Blue 449 in downtown Indy. She lives in Noblesville with her husband Dan and their one-year old son Jonathan. They are involved at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck. You can usually see her with a cup of coffee in her hand and a smile on her face. Unless she doesn’t have said coffee. Then she is frowning and running towards her Keurig. Andrea is thrilled to be involved with IMB as she goes through motherhood! She loves being able to bond with other parents. Other interests include reading, wine tasting, taking art classes and occasionally working out. Only occasionally.
Angie is a 40 year old mom to Graham (7) and Grace (newborn). Both children are adopted and Angie is adopted too! She is crazy in love with her husband Mike, after 14 years of marriage. As a breast cancer survivor, she is a strong advocate for early 3D mammogram detection before women turn 40. When not spending time with family, Angie pours her heart and soul into teaching children with special needs. Her life is full of fitness, inspiring mama friends, coffee, church, online shopping, and red wine.
Anne is a an ambitious free spirit with a passion to interact with moms from all walks of the journey. In addition to teaching full time, she is a mental health and postpartum depression advocate with the initiation of Partum Pals in 2018 as a community and social media space to instill knowledge and awareness to parents finding themselves in need of support, central to Indy. Outside of the “mom life,” she is also known to host trivia events around Indy restaurant establishments and area school philanthropies. Nothing keeps her busier, however, than her toddler son and dog named Whitney Houston. Although, she does love everything from an outdoor concert, to the Hoosiers and Colts, to working out with friends. She is excited to begin this adventure with Indianapolis Moms Blog!
Kimberly is a 37 yr old working mom of a 12 year old girl with a precious baby boy. She is recently married after being a single mom for 10 years. Kim keeps busy as the director of Body Sculpting Med Spa in Carmel and is also currently renovating a 1970s ranch home. She loves to travel, cook and entertain family and friends. Kim likes to call herself “the opposite of a Helicopter Mom” and isn’t one bit ashamed that she’s never been to one of her daughter’s class parties. This new adventure of raising both a teenager and a baby will certainly make for some interesting blog posts and exciting life lessons!
Kelly has lived in Indiana all her life and loves being a Hoosier. She met her husband Aaron during her first day of college and the rest is history. She is the mom of a four year old boy and one year old girl. Kelly recently left the corporate marketing world after 15+ years to pursue her passion of owning her own marketing firm, Wild Flamingo Marketing. As a freelance marketer, she is passionate about helping businesses based here in Indianapolis grow with the right mix of strategy, branding, social media, website, and email marketing. She loves Indiana basketball, spending time outside, local restaurants, concerts, craft beer, and traveling.
Melissa Delk Bernero
Melissa is a southerner who has made Indiana her home. She is mom to Nolan, a spunky five year old little girl, as well as soon-to-be-wife. Just this year, Melissa started Nolan James. A shopping experience for women and men. Melissa loves to be with her family and friends, work on building Nolan James, and running for sanity. You can always find her at home with her standing laundry date on Friday’s except when she has a festival to attend.
Roleen is an elementary school teacher and a fitness instructor. She created Baddie Cardio, an intense workout series, powered by popular hio-hop, latin and reggae music. Roleen resides on the westside of Indianapolis with her husband, Antoine and their two children, Reya and Maxwell. She enjoys hosting epic themed parties composing educational songs and fanatically shopping for lipstick at MAC. Krysten is a marketing professional with a passion for all things creative by day and a “let’s see how much we can cram into 4 hours” wife and mom by night. Growing up in a small town in southern Indiana, Krysten moved to Indy with her beloved dog, Ellie, after college (Go, IU!). Now a resident of Fishers, she can often be found exploring new (to her) parks and restaurants or dreaming of the days where taking the time to go golfing, with her husband Tony, was a thing; experiencing the wonderfully exhausting and surprisingly sticky world as mom of 1-year old daughter Avery; or traveling around the tri-state area to visit friends and family. Krysten was part handy-woman, part detective in her past life and would never turn down a tray of nachos.
Janelle is originally from Washington State, but is now a “Hoosier” of 13 years. She is a 6th grade teacher in Perry Township and lives in Greenwood with her husband, Ryan, her 8 month old son Brice and is expecting a baby girl sometime in late August. She and her husband are also parents to 3 crazy rescue hound dogs and have been involved in various dog rescue organizations over the last several years. In her free time, Janelle loves to spend time outdoors, traveling, playing sports and exploring Indiana.
Kristi grew up in Danville, Indiana where she met her childhood sweetheart and now husband Elliott. After years of living apart including graduate school in New York City and military tours abroad, they resettled and started a family in Indianapolis. Together, they are raising two bright and busy boys—Henry and George. She is a proud extrovert who is genuinely curious about people and enjoys making new friends. She is a social worker by training and has enjoyed a 15 year career in non-profit. In her “spare” time, she enjoys reading memoirs, doing yoga, playing with her boys and listening to her husband, the funniest person she knows.
Sarah grew up a small town Indiana girl, now living in downtown Indianapolis. She is a wife, mama to a little guy, Jackson (1), and a full-time teacher on the westside of Indianapolis. Before having her son, Sarah and her husband took a small break away from Indianapolis to live in England for a couple of years while traveling around Europe. She loves spending quality time with her family in the downtown neighborhoods as well as running, cooking, and reading.
Miranda is a first time mom to 1-year-old Avett. She works full time as a social worker and admits that this professional work influences her parenting style and blog content greatly! Especially because her husband is a social worker as well. Miranda and her family live on the near south side of Indianapolis in the fixer upper they have recently gutted and renovated. Miranda was born and raised, for the most part, in Indianapolis and in her free time you can find her with her family trying a new Indy brewery or restaurant, or showing Avett one of the many great things about Indianapolis as a city! Miranda also enjoys yoga, hiking, traveling, swimming, writing, and sharing every experience with her family.
Kate is a born and bred Hoosier who has never strayed far from the southside. She and her husband have the privilege of raising their two little boys on acreage family owned for generations. She is a second grade teacher and is consistently figuring out how to balance the “teacher gig” with the “mom gig”. When she isn’t busy wrangling toddlers she enjoys reading, writing, date nights and watching her boys play on the land their Daddy grew up on. She is passionate about writing freely about her experiences, and hopes that she can help remind Mamas that they are not alone in this beautifully complicated job of being a Mama.
Jen is a licensed psychotherapist, play therapist, and parent educator practicing in Zionsville. After spending 13 years in California she is slowly acclimating to suburban life. She loves exploiring Indianapolis parks and trails with her husband and 2 children. When not with the kids, she loves coffee, mediation, and audiobooks.
Liz lives in downtown Indianapolis with her husband, daughter, black lab and small flock of chickens. She splits her time being home with her threenager and working part-time at a local nonprofit leading environmental education. Liz loves to advocate for equity and inclusion within Indy, grow veggies, go out for dinner/drinks, Pin a million recipes that she’ll never make and binge watch all things BravoTV.
Paula was not born and raised as a Hoosier, but calls Indianapolis home with great pride because of the community of friends who are more like family. An educator turned work from home mother of two beautiful girls, she is truly living her best life. Paula enjoys writing, creating, being a wife and mother, and finding a great deal when shopping.
Kristin is a navy child turned Hoosier in 2010. She met, dated, and married her husband in 2011. After spending 6 years on the southeast side, her family recently relocated to Brownsburg. They have two boys and a daughter. The three children are 32 months start to finish (July 2013 – March 2016). Kristin stays home with her three toddlers who all have epilepsy. Because of her children’s medical needs, she became aware of a need to care for the parents of medically complex children. She is currently pursuing a second degree in nursing in the hopes of eventually establishing and running a nonprofit to provide respite care to parents like her.
Katy Gentry McCord
Katy is a licensed teacher and a master’s level special educator K-12. Katy is also an accomplished actor, speaker, and studio vocalist with roles spanning theaters in the midwest and Carnegie Hall. After teaching special education for eight years, she is now a stay at home mom who really doesn’t stay at home. She is a speaker and worship team leader at St. Lukes Methodist Church and on staff with SpeakIndy, LLC. She and her husband became licensed foster parents in 2015 and met, fell in love, and adopted their son who is now 4. They also have a two year-old daughter. Katy is a survivor of sexual trauma and has been gratefully sober since May 9, 2015. Katy’s passions include politics, dismantling racism, cake, writing, educating herself on trauma and the Autism Spectrum, tacos, deep conversations, and bargain shopping in used clothing and resale shops.
Lindsey Cornett is a loud talker, iced coffee drinker, and lover of the written word who lives in downtown Indianapolis with her scientist husband and three young kids. In both writing and life, she explores the intersections of faith, family, creativity, and freedom from perfectionism. She’s out there providing hope and solidarity to any other women who find themselves afraid to make mistakes. If her kids aren’t demanding to be held, she’s probably carrying a pen, a book, or a coffee. You can find her on Instagram @lindseycornett.
Abby is a teacher turned stay at home mama. Originally from Michigan, she ventured into the big city of Chicago to become a teacher. After 8 year in Chicago Public Schools, she and her husband were in search of some more space. They found themselves a nice little place in the Indy suburbs, and now call that home. Abby is the tamer of two littles, an avid reader, and an iced coffee drinker.
Kaylee is a wife to Cody and boy mom to Lewis and Sheamus. She has been a central Indiana girl her whole life, currently residing in Avon with her family and bullmastiff Buckley. Kaylee was a teacher for 7 years before becoming a stay at home mom. She’s a lover of bookstores, Netflix, good food and beer, vacation planning, and treating everyday like Christmas while navigating this messy and wonderful life.
Shannon is a soon-to-be first time mom. A native Hoosier, she returned home in 2014 after many adventures in different states. She resides in Fountain Square with her husband and two dogs. Shannon is a social worker and public health leader. She is the co-founder and former President of the Indiana Person Directed Care Coalition. She is a world changer and soul chaser.
Sierra is a wife, mom, and works full-time for local benefits consulting company. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she now resides in Fishers with her husband (Tommy) and two young children (Jaden & Skylar). When she’s not working or chasing after her little ones, she enjoys reading, writing for her personal blog, listening to podcasts, trying new recipes, spend time with friends, and has recently developed an interest in yoga.
Codi is mama to two rambuctious boys, Coop & Cy and wife to Josh. She is the Media Assistant at IPS Montesori School #91 and loves to work out at the local YMCA in her spare time. She loves cooking and organizing things. She also spends time traveling to schools and helping her son give presentations on Autism Acceptance. She is living the momlife to its fullest!
Formerly a veteran English teacher and school counselor, Becca now self-identifies as a full-time mom-arazzi to her 18-month-old daughter, Lottie Grace. Other notable accomplishments include, but are not limited to, a nearly flawless record of leaving Target with a budget still intact, writing for her personal blog, nearly never subjecting her husband to reality television, logging record-breaking Instagram scroll sessions, being outdoors, and tirelessly working to find the humor in life.
Emily is a wife and stay-at-home/work-from-home mama of a four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. When she’s not filling milk cups, singing nursery rhymes or sweeping up Cheerios off of the floor, Emily works as an editor for a large healthcare system. During her alone time, she enjoys working out, baking, writing, and has recently rekindled her love for tap dancing.
