While school is out for the summer, districts around Indianapolis are offering free and nutritious meals for children and teens under the age of 18. We have rounded up several places for our free summer meal guide for the Indianapolis area – you can find all the places that are providing meals for families and we will continue to update this list throughout the summer.
Open to ALL kids 18 and under, Indy Parks & Recreation’s meal service is available Monday through Friday at the below locations around Marion County. There is no registration necessary and completely free. They also mentioned that Second Helpings will provide sandwiches for adults at some locations.

The IPS Summer Meal program runs from June 8th through July 22nd. According to their website, meal service will be on Tuesdays (3 days’ worth of meals) and Thursdays (2 days’ worth of meals). Pick-ups will be drive-thru style outside and will occur from 10:00 am–12:00 pm.

Pike’s free hot meal service is available for children 18 years and under at all of Pike’s K-12 school buildings from June 7th-25th. They are open Monday through Friday. Breakfast is from 8:30-9:30 am, lunch from 11:00 am-12:30 pm, and they ask that you bring a photo ID to be served. Curbside Bulk Service is available at the Pike Freshman Center (6801 Zionsville Road, behind the building) on Wednesdays from 3:00-6:00 pm.
The Decatur Township Child Nutrition program runs from June 7th through July 23rd (no meals on July 5th). Lunch is served daily for kids 18 and younger for free, and adults can eat for $3.

Summer food distribution started June 1st and is available for all kids 18 and under. At the below locations, breakfast and lunch will be served Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00 pm. Tuesday’s distribution will include 2 breakfast and 2 lunch meals. Thursdays will include 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meals. Kids do not need to be present to pick up food.

To cap off our free summer meal guide Indianapolis, Beech Groves’ “Summer Fun Lunches” runs from June 7th through July 23rd. The free lunches are available to children 18 and under followed by a fun park activity. Lunches are provided by Chartwells at Beech Grove. See below for locations, dates, and times.
