Today marks a new day for both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they officially exited their royal roles yesterday on March 31. Recently the pair had been spending time with friends in Canada. After their last royal engagement, the family escaped to a quiet compound in the Los Angeles area and have been strictly practicing social distancing ever since. In a recent press release, a spokesperson for the pair said they “will spend the next few months focusing on their family in a safe and private manner.” While Meghan enjoys being close to her mother Doria, the spokesperson said that they both “are looking for a slower pace of life with added privacy and safety for their family as they focus on developing their future non-profit organization.” Both the spokesperson and local media outlets have confirmed that the pair has purchased a home on the Northside of Indianapolis in a gated community with “a large yard that the family is excited to enjoy.”
Harry and Meghan will celebrate their second wedding anniversary this May and are hoping to move back to the midwest by the end of the summer. With the recent rescheduling of the Invictus Games, both Harry and Meghan are “eager to focus solely on supporting their existing charitable foundations and the creation of their newest non-profit organization.” Meghan is a graduate of Northwestern University and often told friends that she appreciated the midwest spirit and hospitality, which is why they were interested in purchasing a home in this area.
