Raise your hand if you felt cooped up this winter! I don’t know about you, but I constantly daydream of family outings, especially enjoying a meal outside with my family. And thanks to a growing list of restaurants finding creative ways to rev up their outdoor dining during a pandemic, my outdoor dining dream has become a reality. We are kicking off our new See Circle City series with a round-up of local restaurants in the Indianapolis area that offer comfortable winter outdoor dining. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy one or all of these experiences before the warm weather comes! Until then, some restaurants may have a BYOB policy – bring your own blanket.
Four Day Ray Brewing – Fishers
Four Day Ray Brewing in Fishers is offering an outdoor dining experience in their igloo garden which includes five lit-up igloos to enjoy for a two-hour reservation. Igloos have a maximum of six people and each igloo is heated with a personal Bluetooth speaker and air purifier.
Public Greens Urban Kitchen – Broad Ripple & the Fashion Mall
With two locations to choose from, Public Greens is offering you the chance to book a private greenhouse for brunch or dinner. Reservations open every Monday at 12 pm.
Ellison Brewing Company – Downtown Indianapolis
Ellison Brewing Company put their igloos on display on their outdoor wrap-around patio. Each igloo holds up to six people, including children. Enjoy some igloo in the warmth before spring arrives and they transform back to their normal outdoor dining.
Strange Bird – Irvington
A kid-friendly rum and oyster bar located in Irvington, Strange Bird converted storage pods into decorated outdoor dining pods for patrons to safely practice social distancing.
Field Brewing – Westfield
Not just a staple for summertime dining, Field Brewing offers outdoor greenhouse rentals for a fun family dining experience. With spacious seating for six, the heated greenhouses are located on their outdoor patio.
Capri Italian Restaurant – Indianapolis
Tucked away near 71st and Keystone, Capri Italian Restaurant has Italian ice caves available. Each cave seats up to six and includes heaters and lights. Book a cave for a two-hour slot during a fancy night out.
Foundation Coffee Company – Indianapolis
Instead of grabbing your coffee to go, try taking a little break and enjoying your coffee in one of Foundation Coffee Company‘s patio greenhouses. It’ll feel like warmer days!
Vivante French Eatery – Carmel
Along the Monon Trail in Carmel, you can cozy up in a reserved igloo for lunch or dinner at Vivante French Eatery for a limited time. Their igloos are coming down at the end of this week but will be back in the fall. Each igloo can seat up to six people and includes a small heater that you can control. The restaurant also gives you the option of bringing your own Bluetooth speaker to enjoy some tunes while you enjoy your day or night out.
Urban Vines – Westfield
Last but certainly not least – Urban Vines. Considered a veteran in the winter outdoor dining game, Urban Vines offers patrons the chance to relax in their outdoor igloos. Who doesn’t love great wine, good company, and your own private winter oasis? The domes are spacious, seating up to eight people, and include a heater, music, and lights.
